Research Interests

  • Laboratory Astrophysics (Measurements of properties of atoms of importance to astrophysicists), including:
    • Atomic lifetimes and oscillator strengths
    • Hyperfine structure and isotope shifts
    • Absolute wavelengths
  • Experimental tests of precision calculations of relativistic and quantum electrodynamics effects in simple atomic systems
  • Fast-ion-beam laser spectroscopy
